Enacting the Circle

Enacting the Circle

Please join us for the US Premiere of “Enacting the Circle”, a work developed by professors Quran Karriem (Syracuse University) and Jay Hammond (Georgetown University) during their 2022 ‘4DSOUND' residency at Lobe Studio in Vancouver, BC. Enacting the Circle is an exercise in collective attunement, aural perception, and participatory improvisation for spatialized audio, guitar, trombone, and Synthball, a motion-based controller Dr. Karriem developed with Dr. Rebecca Uliasz in 2017 during their doctoral studies at Duke.

For this evening of motion and sonic experimentation, we are beyond fortunate to be joined by social choreographer Brooks Emanuel, experimental electronic trio Delver, and visual artist Larissa Wood.

Tickets: suggested donation $15
