David Menestres and Jordan Perry are instrumentalists/ composers/improvisers loosely located in the mid atlantic. Their paths have been colliding for several years through various shared bills and social engagements. In their first performed collaboration, Perry and Menestres will cull artists with whom they've individually worked over the years to sonically survey the space of Bay 7.
“Living machines consume organic detritus, growing stronger in the margins and inventing shadow languages…Margolis, Wright, and Menestres wriggle through tangled wires, exhaling smoke into winded memories in a ritual to reanimate the inanimate and trample over our hoarded wreckage. Strange, captivating, and alive.” -Brad Rose, Foxy Digitalis (April 23, 2025)
"Perry has a firm and solid touch to his string wrangling, but unlike many of his contemporaries, he doesn’t feel compelled to resolve all the melodic questions he raises. He often stops in a place he finds interesting, repeating rhythmic figures while trying out variations on the note/chord sequence that stopped him in the first place. It’s a very interesting approach and allows him to explore textual aspects of the acoustic guitar that are not often investigated."
